SUSTAINABILITY IS EVERYTHING
At Restaurantware, sustainability isn't just a principle, it's our foundation. Every decision we make, from product development to logistics, is driven by a commitment to reducing our environmental impact while delivering innovative, design-forward solutions for modern foodservice. That's why for every durable or reusable product we introduce, we also develop a sustainable alternative.
We believe sustainability should be seamless, empowering businesses to make responsible choices without compromising quality or performance.
SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH COLLABORATION
We know sustainability works best when it's a shared effort. That's why listening to our customers is at the heart of our approach. Through ongoing feedback, we refine our materials, designs, and processes to ensure that sustainability is an integrated part of how our products function in the real world.
We don't just follow regulations—we anticipate them. As bans on certain materials expand, we stay ahead by developing alternatives that meet evolving standards without sacrificing quality.
One example is our Pulp Safe Collection, designed in response to growing restrictions on PFAS, commonly known as ''forever chemicals''. Instead of relying on harmful additives, we developed a solution using repurposed sugarcane fibers and papers without added PFAS. These products are home compostable and meet the strictest state requirements while maintaining the durability foodservice operations need.
To help our customers stay compliant, we've built an automated system that flags restricted items at checkout based on shipping destination. This ensures foodservice operators stay up to date with changing laws without extra hassle.
SMART INNOVATION IN PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Sustainability starts with better materials.
Whenever possible, we use rapidly renewable resources like bamboo and bagasse instead of traditional tree-based paper. To replace conventional plastic linings in greaseproof packaging, we've introduced water-based coatings and bioplastics. Our focus on innovation has led to solutions like:
- Mineral-filled plastics, which use less plastic while maintaining strength.
- Coffee-infused bioplastics, which incorporate organic waste into functional packaging.
- Bagasse and palm leaf, which provide sturdy, compostable alternatives to foam and plastic.
Every material is carefully chosen to balance sustainability, performance, and food safety, so our customers don't have to compromise.
ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL, AND GOVERNANCE (ESG) LEADERSHIP
Sustainability isn't just about materials—it's about responsibility.
REDUCING WASTE THROUGH SMARTER LOGISTICS
Our Ship In Own Container (SIOC) Initiative has eliminated over 158,000 pounds of material waste and 1.5 million square feet of cardboard annually. By optimizing our shipping routes and training employees in environmental efficiency, we reduce emissions and waste at every stage of our supply chain.
ETHICAL SOURCING & FAIR LABOR PRACTICES
We believe that sustainability must be built on integrity. That's why we only partner with suppliers who uphold fair labor practices, ethical sourcing, and safe working conditions. Within our own organization, we foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and community impact—because doing the right thing starts from within.
Our commitment extends beyond our own operations. Through disaster relief programs, reforestation projects, and sustainable land-use initiatives, we support communities facing environmental challenges while promoting long-term sustainability solutions.
TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY
Our corporate governance is guided by a strict Code of Conduct, ensuring ethical decision-making at every level of our business. Regular ethics training, supply chain audits, and compliance monitoring keep us accountable—so when we say we're committed to sustainability, we mean it.

THE GREEN HERO INITIATIVE: MAKING A DIFFERENCE BEYOND PRODUCTS
Sustainability isn't just about the products we create. It's about making a measurable impact. That's why we launched the Green Hero Foundation, an initiative focused on reforestation, wildlife conservation, and promoting sustainable practices in the foodservice industry.
Through the Green Hero Certification, we set strict sustainability benchmarks, ensuring products meet high environmental standards from sourcing to disposal. Beyond our products, we invest in projects that restore ecosystems, support biodiversity, and help businesses adopt more sustainable practices.
A key part of our efforts is our partnership with Veritree, a technology-driven reforestation platform that tracks and verifies environmental impact. Every order supports tree planting efforts that contribute to reforestation and land restoration. Veritree provides real-time data on carbon sequestration, biodiversity restoration, and socio-economic benefits, allowing us to measure the tangible effects of our contributions.
Since 2021, we have planted more than 337,000 trees, improving soil health, restoring habitats, and supporting farmers in developing regions. By combining product innovation with measurable environmental action, we are committed to making sustainability practical and trackable, ensuring our efforts lead to long-term, positive change.
PARTNERSHIPS THAT DRIVE MEANINGFUL CHANGE
Sustainability is a collective effort, and we believe real progress happens when businesses work together. That's why we actively collaborate with our key clients to support their sustainability goals, helping them implement more responsible sourcing, reduce waste, and stay ahead of evolving environmental regulations.
We take a hands-on approach by offering guidance on sustainable product choices, compliance solutions, and innovative packaging alternatives that align with their initiatives. By working closely with foodservice operators, hospitality brands, and retailers, we help them enhance their sustainability programs while maintaining operational efficiency and product performance.
SMALL CHOICES, BIG RESULTS
Sustainability isn't an all-or-nothing proposition. Every small decision adds up to a larger impact. Thanks to our customers, we've collectively made a measurable difference:
2,068,970
sustainable disposable plates
made from bamboo, bagasse, palm leaf, and wood have prevented the equivalent of 4,000 football fields of foam waste from entering landfills.
5,288,375
takeout containers
made from PLA plastic, bagasse, and wood have prevented over 50 harmful chemical byproducts from polluting the environment.
6,669,150
eco-friendly straws
made from paper, natural hay, and PLA plastic have helped mitigate plastic waste—protecting over 1 million seabirds annually.
And this is just the beginning.
At Restaurantware, we're committed to pioneering smarter, greener solutions that lead the foodservice industry toward a more sustainable future. Because sustainability isn't a trend, it's the way forward.
