Effective January 1, 2024, California's AB 1200 (found in the California Health & Safety Code beginning in Section 109010) requires transparency of chemicals present in cookware sold within the state. This means all cookware manufacturers must reveal the presence of any intentionally added chemicals that are present in the food contact surfaces or handles of cookware.Here's what you need to know:

• Cookware: AB 1200 applies to commonly used "cookware" items like pots, pans, skillets, grills, baking sheets, baking molds, trays, bowls, and cooking utensils.
• Chemical Disclosure: If any cookware we sell contains intentionally added chemicals from California's designated list, we're required to identify them on both the product label as of January 1, 2024, and on our website as of January 1, 2023.
• Intentionally Added: The term "intentionally added" means the chemical was deliberately included in the product and contributes to its function or performance.

Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) represent a group of fluorinated organic compounds that contain at least one entirely fluorinated carbon atom. This classification encompasses over 10,000 diverse substances and includes fluoropolymers.

Fluoropolymers are utilized by Restaurantware due to their non-stick, self-lubricating, and high-performance qualities. These qualities are crucial for ensuring the durability and functionality of our products.

We deliberately utilize fluoropolymers that comply with applicable legislations and restrictions on classified chemicals, maintaining a strong emphasis on mindful selection and regulation-centered manufacturing. As a result, all high-performance fluoropolymers, such as PTFE coatings and FKM rubber materials, are intentionally crafted without the inclusion of Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) or Perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS). PFOA and PFOS are specific types of PFAS compounds that do not break down in the environment or the human body, which is why they are avoided in our production processes.
