Your party, catering and restaurant guests are bound to love this yummy cherry candy recipe, it is definitely a culinary treat that you can serve any time of year and in any kind of food setting. Don’t delay serve these delicious candies up today on beautiful black shooting star plates.

Yummy Cherry Candy Recipe

Ingredients:

2 boxes of fruit pectin (6 ounce boxes)

1 1/2 cups of water

1 teaspoon of baking soda

2 1/2 cups of sugar

2 cups of light corn syrup

4 teaspoon of cherry extract

10 drops of red food coloring

Directions:

Use cooking spray and spray two 9 x 5 loaf pans, then set these aside.

Now, mix fruit pectin, water and baking soda in a medium saucepan, then put 2 cups of sugar and corn syrup in another saucepan.

Cook both mixtures on high heat for four minutes (the sugar mixture will come to a rolling boil and the pectin mixture will form a film over its top) – this is what you want to happen. As your mixtures boil, stir them frequently.

After 4 minutes, slowly add sugar mixture to pectin mixture (stirring constantly), then cook for another minute (remember to continue stirring during this time.

Now, remove from heat. Stir in extract and food coloring, then pour into loaf pans and let the mixtures set up at room temperature (this could take 3 hours to 12 hours).

Now, put 1/2 cup of sugar onto a piece of waxed paper, then turn candy out of loaf pans onto the waxed paper, but candy into shapes of your choosing. You may have to use a knife and run it under warm water as you cut pieces of candy.

Once candy is cut, place on a wire rack and let it set up.

This could take up to 24 hours, however, most of the time it doesn’t take this long. Now, serve candy pieces on a lovely black shooting star plate and set the plates around your party, catering event or restaurant for your guests to enjoy.
