Many people make a shrimp cocktail when they have a party, sometimes people even serve this dish in their restaurants and bars, but isn’t it time to amp this traditional appetizer up a bit. Why not, wow everyone with this new and improved tasty shrimp cocktail recipe served in unique bamboo cones.

Bamboo cones come a several sizes, mini, medium and large. You can feature your shrimp in large cones by piling some of these tasty gems inside the cone. You can also showcase your shrimp cocktail sauce in mini cones alongside the large cones by putting both cones in a modern and durable bamboo cone stand.

First you will need to make your shrimp cocktail so let’s get started:

Tasty shrimp cocktail recipe: This recipe makes 14-16 servings.

Ingredients you will need: 

16 cups of water

1 cup of dry white wine

2 medium lemons, sliced thin

6 fresh parsley sprigs

4 bay leaves

4 teaspoons of black peppercorns

3 teaspoons of kosher salt

4 pounds of shrimp, deveined, peeled, you can leave the tails on or take them off (this part is up to you)

Ingredients for the cocktail sauce: 

3 cups of ketchup

1/2 cup of horseradish

1 teaspoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 teaspoon of Tabasco sauce

pinch of black pepper

Directions: 

Put all the top ingredients in a big pot, except for the shrimp. Bring these ingredients to a boil, then add shrimp, stir well and remove pan from heat. Put a cover on pan and let sit until shrimp are an opaque color, this should take about 10 minutes.

When shrimp are cooked, drain them in a strainer, then place them on a paper towel lined baking sheet. Now, discard any of the poaching liquid that has stayed on the shrimp, let the shrimp cool for about 10 minutes.

Now, put shrimp in a large bowl and place them in fridge for at least one hour, but you can leave them in the up to a full day.

Make cocktail sauce.

Mix all cocktail sauce ingredients until well combined, place in a bowl and put in fridge until chilled, make sure you cover the bowl with a lid or plastic wrap.

Now, when you are ready to serve, put shrimp in a large bamboo cone, then place several of these cones in a bamboo cone stand. At this point, take your cocktail sauce and put in mini bamboo cones, then place some of these cones in the stand with your shrimp filled cones. Serve and enjoy.
